The Río Tinajas near to Ceiba is an absolute insider's tip offering lots of fun for persons of any age. Anyone who will take their time to find this river for the first time, which as many others flows from the rain forrest El Yunque into the valley, will be rewarded by breathtaking views of natural pools and slides, waterfalls and by baths in clear refreshing water. However, you should only take this trip if it hasn't been raining for some days before, as otherwise there might be too much water flowing down from the mountains. But if you go, make sure to bring your swimming things!

To reach Río Tinajas go from Fajardo in the direction of Ceiba take exit 5 right after the Ceiba toll station and then turn right. Now you are on the PR-975. After you have reached its end, the Rio Tinajas is only one minute away. Please see directions for the exact position.

Doubtless it is the big natural pools located 1 km up the river which are the main attraction here. They invite you to swim, barbecue or swing from the rocks into the water on lianas. Mother nature has even created a slide for use to enjoy! If you come here with friends or family, you can spend a wonderful day full of fun in nature. Especially in summer this location is absolutely to be recommended. In the hot months of the year nothing is more refreshing than a bath in the cool rivers of El Yunque rain forrest!

There are two possibilities of reaching the pools from the parking lots: One is via the hidden path above the river, the other by walking directly along the stream. The path starts at the end of the street and is marked by a gate. The easiest possibility might be to ask somebody for directions when you're there or to just follow a group.

Por el área de Ceiba, el Río Tinajas es un secreto bien guardado, y ofrece diversión para todas las edades. Todo el que se tome la molestía de encontrar el río, así como muchas otras corrientes del bosque tropical El Yunque hacia el valle, serán rencompensados por una impresionante vista de piscinas naturales y chorreras, cascadas y por baños de refrescante agua cristalina. Sin embargo, solo debe ir si no ha llovido en los dias anteriores, de lo contrario puede haber demasiada corriente bajando de la montaña. Pero si va, asegúrese de traer sus cosas para bañarse!

Para llegar al Río Tinajas vaya por Fajardo dirección a Ceiba. Tome la salida 5 después del peaje de Ceiba y entonces vire a la derecha. Ahora esta en la PR-975. Cuando llegue al final, el Río Tinajas esta solo a un minuto. Por favor veo direcciones para la posición exacta.

Sin duda es la gran piscina natural localizada a un kilómetro a lo alto del río la mayor atracción. Te invitan a nadar, una barbacoa o columpearse desde las rocas al agua en lianas. Madre tierra a hasta creado una chorrera para disfrutar! Si va con amistades o familia, puede pasar un maravilloso día lleno de diversión en la naturaleza. Especialmente en verano esta localización es absolutamente recomendada. En los meses calientes del año nada es más refrescante que un baño en los frescos ríos del bosque tropical El Yunque.

Hay dos posibilidades para llegar a las piscinas desde el estacionamiento: Una es a través de un camino escondido paralelo al río, el otro es caminando a lo largo de la corriente. El camino comienza al final de la carretera y es marcado por una verja. La forma más sencilla es preguntar a alguien por direcciones cuando este ahí o seguir a un grupo.
