The beach of Luquillo is another blue flag beach - and a very nice one, too. Located directly at the highway, it is particularly easily accessible. You can park your vehicle outside the beach area or for a small fee of a couple of dollars in a safe parking lot.

As for food, you will not stay hungry or thirsty here: There are numerous restaurants and bars lining the street. You can also find many areas (some of them roofed) for picnicking, barbecuing and partying directly between the palm trees of the beach. The whole beach is outstandingly clean and there are many sanitary facilities, which makes it, together with Seven Seas Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the north-eastern part of the island.

The beach is located in a natural bay, so that the waves are rather low. Depending on the time of year, the water has a very beautiful blue-green color in the sun. Great value is also placed on safety, with lifeguards watching the water from their watch towers. The only other beach offering such protection is Balneario Carolina in San Juan.

This is the perfect location for those who want to spend a nice day on the beach in this area. It should be noted, though, that there are no recreation offers like jet skis etc.. However, this might be a welcome fact to those who are looking for a day of relaxation.
